You may have noticed I’ve been a little quiet on the internet over the past month as I’ve been gearing up to release my first ever fashion + art line called A is for Arsenic.

The process from designing the shirts, to production, to photographing the look book, to setting up a new shopping site has been quite challenging to say the least as I’ve been doing it as a solo project. However, I’m extremely happy with the results and excited about the future creative possibilities of the line, as it feels like the culmination of many of my ambitions over the past year.

Concept behind A is for Arsenic

The concept behind the brand is to create high quality art and products with an emphasis on good design and attention to detail.

Each month a new range or capsule collection will be presented, allowing me to explore different concepts monthly and experiment with different mediums and design disciplines. So this month I’ve released a t-shirt range called Night Terrors Act 01, but next month I might put out a range of art prints,  a zine or a jewellery line. Everything is made with love in England is is very limited in edition.

Night Terrors Act 01

The first range to be released through A is for Arsenic is entitled ‘Night Terrors Act 01′ which is a t-shirt collection featuring 2 macabre prints.

The lookbook photoshoot in particular was one of the more fun aspects of putting the line together as it combined the collaborative efforts of a few London based creatives. Talented photographer Anna Swiczwniuk was responsible for the haunting photography. The gorgeous Nina Kate was the female model for the shoot, who also happens to be a talented designer in her own right as she runs the successful Jane Doe Latex clothing company. Her husband Stitch_D was the awesome male model, who is the lead singer in the London based metal band The Defiled. Nina Kate’s hair was done by the amazing Ceri from Snarl Hair. Thanks also to Katie Woodger for her assistance on the day. Lastly the art direction and retouching was undertaken by myself. I was lucky enough to be able to borrow some amazing props from my dear friend Louisa Bryan for the background imagery.

Night Terrors Packaging

I’m a bit of a packaging fiend and absolutely relished the idea of having the chance to design some packaging to compliment the Night Terrors range. I also wanted to make the experience of receiving the goods in the mail special for my customers, so I designed a cardboard mailer which has a hand screen printed design on the front.

I hope you enjoyed checking out my first A is for Arsenic release! Please check out the website for more product photos and news blog. Please also email me at amelia@aisforarsenic.com for press enquiries if you’re interested in helping promote my line (thankyou!).
